ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS
THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR

ALFRED HITCHCOCK

"Alfred Hitchcock Presents" was an anthology series, that ran from 1955 until 1962; with Hitchcock introducing the show, which was then followed by a short half an hour episode which contained suspense, horror, and humor. After the story, Hitchcock would come back and end the show.

"The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" ran from 1962 until 1965, which was an anthology series, which followed the same format as "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".

Alfred Hitchcock was born in the United Kingdom in 1899 and passed away in the USA in 1980.

He was married to Alma Reville from 1926, until his death. Reville was also an established writer. They had one daughter Patricia Hitchcock, who appeared in 10 episodes of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".

Hitchcock was a master of suspense, producing many movies, including
"Frenzy"
"Psycho"
and
"The Birds".

"Alfred Hitchcock" - biography (taken from Bradley Beard's Facebook page)
Good Evening. In 1960, he directed one of the greatest horror movies of all time and from 1955 to 1962 he hosted a popular TV anthology series during the Golden Age of Television. Tonight I present Alfred Hitchcock, director of Psycho and host of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. AHP offered TV viewers one of the most iconic title sequences in the history of TV; filmed each week, Hitchcock's shadow would step into a stylized caricature of himself while Charles Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette played in the background, truly memorable and brilliant. The show was a mix of suspense, crime, horror (not so much), and even comedy. Psycho, on the other hand, offered movie 1960's movie goers a frightening look into a deranged mind... and gave them a reason to always look over their shoulder while taking a shower. Alfred Hitchcock, an artistic mastermind who gave us a reason to fear.

A strange parody is that of the animated character Alfy Gator from "The Yogi Bear Show" from 1961.

Alfy Gator (voiced by Daws Butler impersonating Alfred Hitchcock):
A blue alligator who tries to capture Yakky Doodle because his gourmet guidebook recommends roast duck. He tends to be verbose while setting his traps, probably as an imitation of Hitchcock's introductions on the television series "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". Also taken from that show is Hitchcock's silhouette & outline routine, which Alfy imitates in most of the cartoons he is in.

The following are some clips from both of the Hitchcock shows:

In 1985, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" would return. Updated remakes of classic stories were made from "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (1955) and "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" (1962), originally produced by the Master of Suspense. Alfred Hitchcock's original opening bits are colorized for re-use in this new series.
