ATOMIC AGE CINEMA!

? - "BARON MARDI"
? - "DOC TOR CULPRIT CALAMARI"
? - "JOE WOODROW OAKEN III (WOODY)"
? - "REVEREND POLYPUS"

"Atomic Age Cinema" featuring "Baron Mardi", "Basement Boy", "Doc Tor Culprit Calamari", "Joe Woodrow Oaken III (Woody)", and "Reverend Polypus" have been presenting movies live since 2004. It began as a fundraiser for the "Cinephile Film Arts Organization", and dedicated to helping local filmmakers get their films made and shown. Cinephile eventually transformed into the "Dark Carnival Film Festival" and the profits from AAC!

In 2009, "Dark Carnival Film Fest and Horrorhound Magazine Halloween Special" filmed in 2009 Dayton, OH... gone horribly wrong! The Atomic Age Cinema! monsters took over the television station and wreaked havoc on the unsuspecting audience for over two hours! Great interviews with Dark Carnival Film Fest and Horrorhound Magazine!

"100 Years of Monster Movies" was a hosted horror movie show with rotating horror hosts, screening on Chiller TV, presented by FearWerx, during 2010. One of the episode saw "Baron Mardi", "Doc Tor Culprit Calamari", "Joe Woodrow Oaken III (Woody)", "Reverend Polypus" and "Basement Boy" as hosts

2011 saw a internet release "Jib Jab" that was originally produced for the anthology "Psycho Street", and was created by Atomic Age Cinema; in the spirit of Japanese game shows; with hosts Kitsie Duncan as "Mz. KiKi Kill" and "Dr. Calamari", with contestants including "Baron Mardi", "Basement Boy", and "Woody". The short ran for under 30 minutes.

In 2017, they began posting to YouTube an internet show, which may not have lasted a year or so.

He's the self-proclaimed drunken master of the Voodoo arts. Tonight I present Baron Mardi, host of Atomic Age Cinema coming to you from Bloomington, IN. Atomic Age Cinema is a group of monstrous vagabonds who present horror movies to the unsuspecting movie viewing public. They host live events as well as presenting their own internet show. Baron Mardi's mother was a voodoo priestess. There is much debate as to his father's identity; his mother would often tease young Mardi by telling him that he was a roadie for the Marshall Tucker Band. He was born while his mother was teleporting from New Orleans to Scranton, PA (which he likes to call "The Big Easy"). He got his start by reading Tarot cards outside of a 7-11. Baron Mardi gives Atomic Age Cinema its voodoo juju.

He washes his tentacles regularly. Tonight I present Doc Tor Culprit Calamari, host of Atomic Age Cinema, direct from Bloomington, IN. He first met Baron Mardi when he was but an inkling, is seems that Mardi's mother was about to throw him in a pot of gumbo. He spent his early years working as an "oddity" in a carnival freak show where he became known as Moliardi the Mollusk Man. Calamari has a deeply personal connection to the silent classic "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari; he says "that film, basically was like the inner workings of my head that was sucked out and splayed on film, it was almost as if I had spooged my dreams and nightmares into 1919 Germany." When asked in a recent interview about the allegations that he was responsible for WikiLeaks, Calamari maintained an uneasy silence. Just remember, if you live in District 6... Vote Calamari.

He likes to light his nose on fire. Tonight I present Joe Woodrow Oaken III, otherwise known as Woody, host of Atomic Age Cinema, home-grown in Bloomington, IN. It seems that it was Baron Mardi who animated Woody with a spell, says Mardi, "He's a voodoo doll that kind of got out of control". Dr. Calamari has this to say of Woody, "He's got a lot of energy and he likes to smoke weed." Sometimes when Calamari returns home, their shack is filled with smoke and Woody will float out on a cloud like a wooden Bob Marley. According to Mardi, Woody also likes to swing from tall vines and pull small versions of himself out of what appears to be his… well, with the Atomic Age Cinema monsters... one only needs to wonder where Woody's twiglings come from. Any ideas as to how he got the name Woody?

I offer you a double dose of Atomic Age Cinema monsters. Tonight I present Reverend Polypus and Basement Boy, hosts of Atomic Age Cinema; a collective of evil, horrible monsters that reside in a shack in Bloomington, IN. Atomic Age Cinema began as a fund raiser in conjunction with the Cinephile group. They host both live movie events and their own web based internet show. Little known information actually exists on Basement Boy or Reverend Polypus. Basement Boy, it seems was found in the Atomic Age Cinema shack and lives in the basement behind a pile of magazines of questionable content. In his "Bloomington after Midnight" interview, Doktor Calamari had this to say of Basement Boy, "Whenever you need a specimen, Basement Boy is always there to go out and get one". Unfortunately Reverend Polypus was unavailable for any further comment.
