BARON VON CRYPT's SHOCK THEATER |
"Baron Von Cypt's Shock Theater" was a hosted horror movie show with Mark Lashly as "Baron Von Crypt", screened on KDNL-TV Channel 30, St. Louis, Missouri. The show ran from 1970 until 1971. The Baron was assisted by wise cracking sidekick - Igor.
2016 Baron Von Crypt reemerged with interviews, Facebook pages, and chat groups. Classic shows were revamped and showing worldwide on The Eerie Late Night Horror Channel and The Monster Channel on Roku.
Some of Baron Von Crypt's catchphrases included: "Blu", "Think About It" and "Trust me Punky". Mark Lashley is also acknowledged as being the originator and designer of The McDonald's Happy Meal. |
Another all but forgotten horror host. Tonight I present Baron Von Crypt, host of Baron Von Crypt on KDNL-TV Channel 30 in St. Louis, MO, an alternate name for the show may have been Shock Week but can't be confirmed. The show aired sometime during the 1970's, the exact dates are unknown. The show is a bit of a mystery as no further information exists online. What does exist, however, is one amazing 17:00 montage clip that can be found on YouTube; I found a cool TV guide ad for the show as well. It appears from the video clip, that the Baron is an extremely talented artist and composer... or DE-composer as the case may be. The Baron was joined by his seldom seen, wise cracking sidekick Igor. Full of horrifically bad one-liners, the show was actually quite punny. it's sad though that so little of the Baron remains... think about it. |
The following are some clips from the show:
