"Creature Double Feature" was a horror movie show on WLVI-TV, Channel 56 Boston, Massachusetts screening horror movies with Dale Dorman as "Uncle Dale" providing the voice over announcements. The show screened on Satiurday's at 1:00pm in the mid 1970's to early 1980's. The show's original announcers were reportedly Ron Dwyer and Tom Evans. During most of its run, however, the show's announcer was Dale Dorman, a Boston radio personality at WRKO who also frequently did voice work for 56's children's programming. "Creature Double Feature" sometimes aired under the titles "Creature Feature" and "Sci-Fi Flix". DALE DORMAN Dale Dorman was born on 2 September 1943 in Homer, Cortland County, New York, USA and passed away on 21 October 2014 in Tewksbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. He was in broadcasting in Boston for almost 40 years, starting on WCHN AM/FM (Norwich, New York) then going to WOLF in 1965, KYNO (Fresno,California) during 1965-1966, KFRC (San Francisco) in 1966-1968, WRKO in 1968-1978), and later on WXKS-FM in 1978-2003. He joined WODS during the summer of 2003. In the 1970s and 1980s, Dorman was also an on-air announcer for television on WLVI-TV, Boston for children's programming as "Uncle Dale", including the channel's Saturday afternoon "Creature Double Feature" monster movie presentations. Until September 15, 2008, he hosted The Breakfast Club with Dale Dorman weekday mornings from 5:30-9 AM. Dorman finished his career as a weekend personality with the station. "Uncle Dale" was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Linda, a son, Scott, a daughter, Christina, and a stepdaughter, Alissa.
