"Cryptique" was a hosted horror internet movie show, with Sophia Baxter as "Miko Macabre"; which ran from 2007-2009. Miko was assisted by Jonathan Hart as "Andre The Temp", and C. Wii as "Uncle Larry". Each episode would have Miko Macabre critiquing a particular horror movie, along with her own brand of humour throughout the show. The series ran for two seasons as an irregularly uploaded internet series. The second season was produced by Adakin Productions, and ceased in early 2009 due to Youtube finding episodes unsuitable for general viewing. Known episodes include from Season One: Night of the Demons - July 2007, Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror July 2007 and from Season Two: Basket case - October 2008, Army of Darkness - November 2008, Silent Night Deadly Night 2009. Her MySpace page describes her as "Just a small town ghoul, livin' in a lonely world." Today I present Miko Macabre, hostess of Cryptique; a short lived web based series of horror movie critiques. The show featured movie clips cleverly interwoven with Miko's charismatic commentary and unabashed skits. While Miko's character exuded that "girl next door" charm, her humor was laced with "woman on the corner" innuendos. Sadly the show was fraught with complaints from YouTube viewers; ultimately the shows brand of racy humor got it banned from YouTube where, coincidentally, a few of her tamer episodes can still be found. Miko vanished from sight as quickly as she appeared, amid much speculation as to her whereabouts and why she gave up hosting. Miko's disappearance is a loss to the genre; we can hope that one day she'll return to her crypt, hopefully tomorrow... In 2022, Sophia Baxter as "Miko Macabre", was a nominee in the "The Official Horror Host Hall of Fame".
