In the world of horror movie hosting, there are the traditional hosts who host movies, and then there are hosts who host other hosts. Let me introduce Dave Dunlap, a lover of horror movies and television, along with those who host these movies and shows. Dave is an artist, who has produced many art pieces, that include sports personalities, various television shows, and movies.

He has also sketched and painted many horror movie and television personalities; and what peaked my interest, the sketches of many horror hosts; including The Professor and Witch Cinders (Denise and I). I really enjoy Dave's work, and is a welcome addition to our Horror Hosting family.

In Dave's own words:

"My name is Dave Dunlap, and I am a retired amateur artist.

I am a San Francisco Bay Area native, being born in Oakland, in 1956. I developed an interest in art at a very early age, and began drawing Universal monsters and superheroes by the time I was seven. I continued my love of drawing, and even took a handful of oil painting classes when I was fourteen. I, however, drifted away from art until I was forty-two, when I started painting again. I was inspired by the French impressionists, and painted street scenes.

In early 2020, I began drawing again, and started posting them on various Facebook pages. In early 2023, I started a horror host’, series, being a huge fan of Bob Wilkins and “Creature Features” in the seventies. I wanted to honor and recognize hosts from both past and present.

I continue to draw and paint, as it is my passion, along with my family: my wife Pam, my kids, Kim and Steve, and two wonderful grandchildren: Sean and Nina."
