"Grimsley" - biography (taken from Bradley Beard's Facebook page)
He brought horror to Hollywood. Today I present Grimsley, host of Grimsley's Fright Night on KHJ-TV Channel 9 in Los Angeles, CA. Grimsley was portrayed by Robert Foster. As a pasty-faced frizzy-haired vampire mortician, he rose from his coffin in his cobweb encrusted attic at the beginning of each show. Grimsley first appeared on a 1975 KTLA-TV Halloween Special and in 1976 began his show on KHJ-TV which ran until 1979. His immediate popularity offered the fans numerous public appearances. At the El Portal Theatre, Grimsley once performed a live show where he hosted two movies, including the Hammer Studios classic Vampire Lovers. in 1977, he was named Grand Marshall for a Halloween appearance at Magic Mountain. He even produced his own line of Grimsley t-shirts, a uncommon practice among horror hosts at that time. "It's been nice... decomposing with you."
In 2021, Robert Foster - "Grimsley" from "Fright Night", was inducted into "The Official Horror Host Hall of Fame".
