HORRIBLE MOVIE |
Greetings animals, as you recall last week on Horrible Movie... Today I present Scarticia, hostess of Horrible Movie on WAPT-TV Channel 16 in Jackson, Mississippi, which aired from 1971 to 1975. The show seemed to emulate a Dark Shadows styled on-going horror soap opera, with recaps from last week starting off the show. Live organ music blared in the background, reminiscent of silent B&W serials. The opening animated shadow sequence is a retro nod to the "with it" graphic and typography styles of the 1970's. Although Scarticia may appear to be Morticia Adams' younger sister, she breathed life... or death into this show with her posh sense of humor and English accent. Scoop Gravely was her grave digging assistant, played by local deejay Ed Hobgood. This show is an example of 1970's horror show hosting at its finest; local talent entertaining a local audience on a modest budget. Unpleasant nightmares!
