"Shock Theatre" was a hosted horror movie show with Bill Cecil as "Hugo, The Monster" presenting movies on Fridays at 10:45pm - 11:15pm time slots for WTVP-TV Channel 17 Decatur, Illinois from 27 February 1959 till 30 September 1960.

The show was known in the media as "Shock Theatre", "Shock Theater" and "Shock!"

The show announced that it would air some 77 horror movies, one every Friday night. "Hugo, The Monster" was assisted by Zelda, The Vampiress played by Alice Montagnino, and Timmy the Timid played by Dave Lauerman.

Not a lot is known about this show, or the actors. What is known is that Alice Montagnino's day job was

the secretary of WTVP general manager Ben West.

Bill Cecil was the personnel director at St Marys Hospital from 1960 until 28 April 1967. He left St Marys to take up a similar position at Mercy Hospital in Chicago.

Dave Lauerman was a local student who worked part-time at the station.
