"Simon's Sanctorum" was a hosted horror movie show with Gary Newton as "Simon" presenting movies on Saturday nights (8:30pm-10:00pm) on WCVB-TV Channel 5 Boston, Massachusetts; and on Sundays afternoons around 2:00pm on KPLR Channel 11 St. Louis, Missouri from 1970 until 1972 or 1973. The show aired old Universal classic horror movies.

Sadly, Gary Newton has passed away on 24 May 2000.

"Stay precisely where you are, Devoteds". Today I present Simon, host of Simon's Sanctorum on WCVB-TV Channel 5 in Boston, Massachusetts and was later syndicated in several markets. It began in 1970 and ran for 2 to 3 years. Simon's Sanctorum was deeply cerebral horror; he would lead the minds of his viewers into his twisted world of insanity. The show was at the same time both brilliant and subversively demented, he would speak to the camera and address it as if it was you, the viewer. Simon spoke to the viewer with mocking disdain, he would say things like "It is time, Devoted, to expand that already over-elasticized membrane known as your mind, as useless as it may seem". He never spoke of the movie that was being shown as his sequences were pre-recorded. As the viewer watched his show, Simon might engage them to share his elixir and when Simon says drink... you drink.

In 2020, F. Gary Newton - "Simon" from "Simon's Sanctorum", was inducted into "The Official Horror Host Hall of Fame".
