TALES FROM 6 FEET UNDER |
"Tales from 6 Feet Under" was a hosted horror movie show with Ben Armstrong as "Dr. Ignatius Speculo" on Saturday nights on WCTV Channel 6, Tallahassee, Florida / Gainesville, Georgia from 12 September 1992 until 27 March 1993. Dr. Speculo was a mad scientist who loved old horror movies, with unruly hair, staring eyes behind black goggles, a huge mouth with massive teeth, and a "mutated Peter Lorre/Ren Hoek voice." Cast included sidekicks Mortimer the talking skull, Rufus the vampire bat, and Frunobulax the monster; the "happy couple," and Clem and Clem, the Phlegm Brothers. The show featured "the best of the bad" films such as "Plan 9 from Outer Space", "The Brain from Planet Arous", "Robot Monster", and "Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla".

A former horror host, he's now co-owner of The Netherworld. Tonight I present Dr. Ignatius Speculo, host of Tales From 6 Feet Under on WCTV Channel 6 in Tallahassee, FL, which ran from September 12, 1992 to March 27, 1993. Dr. Speculo was a mad scientist with a profound love of bad B horror movies. Speculo's over-the-top antics combined with his frenetic energy must have left his audience's senses on visual overload. He was joined in his mania by his sidekicks Mortimer the talking skull, Rufus the vampire bat, and Frunobulax the monster. Dr. Speculo was imagined by Ben Armstrong, who is currently co-owner of Netherworld Haunted Attractions in Norcross, GA. Nationally recognized for his contributions in the Haunted House industry, Armstrong's acted as a consultant on horror themed events across the nation.
