"Baron and His Buddies" was a hosted horror movie show with Mike Price as "Baron Daemon", screened on weekday afternoons, around 4:00pm to 5:00pm on WNYS-TV Channel 9, Syracuse, New York from 1962 until 1967. The show featured "Rocky and Bullwinkle" cartoons, "Mack and Myer for Hire," and "Flash Gordon" shorts, as well as a studio audience of children, plus the Baron's Bloody Buddies, "Verry Harry" (Dennis Calkins) and "Boris" (Bill Eadie) the world's shortest monster.
"The Saturday Hollywood Special" was a hosted horror movie show with Mike Price as "Baron Daemon", Dennis Calkins as "Verry Hairy" and Bill Eadie as "Boris", screened between 1962-1967 at Saturday night at 11:15pm on WNYS-TV, Channel 9, Syracuse, New York, USA.

Today I present Syracuse horror host Baron Daemon. It began in 1963, a young man named Mike Price was transformed into the Baron when station WNYS needed a host for its late night horror shows. The show became so popular with children that an afternoon show was added called "Baron and His Buddies" five days a week. His fans were known as Bloody Buddies and every child wanted to be one. In 1963 The Baron recorded the "The Transylvania Twist" and sold over 12,000 copies, the biggest selling local single ever. Copies now sell for over $100 on eBay.
