"Drac" - biography (taken from Bradley Beard's Facebook page)" Cleveland fans have an undying fondness for this monster hosted show. Tonight I present Drac, host of The Frank and Drac Show which aired on WOIO-TV Channel 19 in Cleveland, OH from October 1987 to June 1988. Drac was played by the multi-talented Robert Kokai who also wrote the material for their show. It was a comedy which paired Dracula opposite the Frankenstein monster; Dracula was the charismatic straight man to Frankenstein's outrageous antics. They parodied TV shows such as I Loathe Lucy and The Monster Court as well as featuring regular segments such as Drac's Bedtime Stories and Frank Fix-It. They were also joined by Drac's beautiful Vampettes; Bambi, Boom-Boom, and Thumper. Numerous show clips can still be seen on YouTube and are well worth checking out. The Frank and Drac Show was so damn good that it makes me wish I'd grown up with it.
"Frank" - biography (taken from Bradley Beard's Facebook page)" It is with permission from and respect to Robert Kokai that I created this portrait. Tonight I present Frank, host of The Frank and Drac Show which aired on WOIO-TV Channel 19 in Cleveland, OH from October 1987 to June 1988. Frank was played by Christopher Allen. Even though the show lasted less than a year, it's memory has lasted a lifetime for many Cleveland Monster Kids. Hollywood horror movie producer Joe Bizarro remembers “Before Joe Bob Briggs, for me it was Frank and Drac. So many memories as a young kid watching these late night Cleveland horror hosts!”. Kokai and Allen were inducted into the 2019 Horror Host Hall of Fame. Numerous show clips can still be seen on YouTube and are well worth checking out. The Frank and Drac Show was so damn good that it makes me wish I'd grown up with it.
