THE SCHLOCK SHOP

BRUCE LENTZ - "MR. SCHLOCK"

"The Schlock Shop" was a hosted horror movie clips with Bruce Lentz as "Mr. Schlock" reviewing B Movies (30-45 minute show with movie clips) on Thursday nights at midnight on PC-TV, cable public access Channel 20 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania between 1997-2000. In all, 13 episodes were produced screen irregularly over these years. The character of Mr. Schlock (Lentz's wife came up with the name) was to be a video store owner of The Schlock Shop who had no clue that there was a world of film outside of the 1950's and 1960's B movies that he loved so much.

He believes that ALL the movies he shows are actually good. Tonight I present Mr. Schlock, host of The Schlock Shop on PC-TV public access cable Channel 20 in Pittsburgh, PA. The show featured 30 minute condensed versions of the films intermingled with comedy sketches driven by Schlock's unbridled insanity. While some hosts poke fun at the movies they show, Schlock was completely oblivious to their questionable quality, he loved them all. The show filmed its last episode in 1999. Schlock was portrayed by Bruce Lentz, who now runs the Incredibly Strange Video Store in Dormont, which features a plethora of rare horror, sci-fi, and cult films. Most recently, Schlock has hosted live events at the Hollywood Theatre in Pittsburgh in an effort to keep the theatre alive.
