THE TEXAS 27 FILM VAULT |
"The Texas 27 Film Vault" was a hosted horror movie show with Randy Clower and Richard Malmos as "Randy" and "Richard", the "Film Vault Technicians First Class"; screening movies on Saturdays at 10:30pm on KDFI Channel 27, Dallas, Texas from 9 February 1985 to 29 August 1987; with occassionally Laurie Ashton Wilde - "Laurie, Mystery Film Vault Technician". Randy Clower, Richard Malmos & Laurie Ashton Wilde The scenario for the show was that the Film Vault Corps, quasi- military organization was established to protect America's schlock culture heritage by safeguarding the bad, campy but lovable cinematic movies of the past. The Film Vault Corps carried out this task in various Film Vaults under every major city in the United States. These vaults were each the size of aircraft carriers and stored all the movies that the local channels filled their late-night hours with. The crew risked their lives fighting off giant rats, worm-like cellumites and other menaces that lurked beneath America's unsuspecting cities. Each episode ran for about two and half hours, which included screening the movie, skits, interviews and also showing an episode from an old serial.
