CHARLES AIDMAN - "NARRATOR"


A revival version of the 1959 television series created by Rod Serling, "The Twilight Zone" presents one to three tales about some unusual situation that turns out to be even more unusual than initially suspected. Whether the tone of the story is horror, suspense, or humor, there is always a surprise twist at the end. Narrated by Charles Aidman (1985-1987) and later by Robin Ward (1988-1989), the show ran from 1985 until 1989.


Charles Aidman

Born on 21 January 1925, Charles Aidman an actor, author, director and composer, educated at Indiana University. Aidman originally planned a career as an attorney, but was sidetracked during World War II and naval officer training at DePaul university. During a speech class the instructor, who also headed the drama department, saw Aidman as ideal for a role in an upcoming play.

He later trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse. His New York off-Broadway stage work included parts in "Career", "The Cretan Woman", and others.

He conceived, directed and acted in "Spoon River Anthology". Joining ASCAP in 1963, he collaborated with Naomi Caryl Hirshhorn in the songs "Spoon River" and "I Am, I Am".

Sadly he passed away on 7 November 1993.


Robin Ward

Robin Ward was born on 10 April 1944 in Canada. He is known for his work on "Land of the Dead" (2005), "The Hurricane" (1999) and "Mark of Cain" (1985). He was a weatherman on the weekends and late-evenings for CFTO-TV in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for many years during the late 1980's and early 1990's.

He is also well know to genre fans as "Garth" in the 1973-1974 science fiction series "The Starlost".
