"Fear on Four" (1988) was a radio anthology series. It was a series of radio shows recreating Valentine Dyall's character as The Man in Black, but voiced by Edward de Souza. The series ran from 3 January 1988 until 16 October 1997. Edward de Souza was born on 4 September 1932 in Hull, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom as Edward James de Souza. He was a British character actor and graduate of RADA, appearing in a variety of movies and television series. "Fear On Four" was a horror drama series on BBC Radio 4. The format comprised a dramatised horror story of approximately half an hour in length, introduced by a character known as the Man in Black. The plays themselves were a mixture of classic horror stories by writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, M. R. James and W. W. Jacobs, and commissioned stories by new or established writers. De Souza hosted series 1 -4, with series 5 with an unknown Narrator.
