In the reboot of the cult mystery series "X-Factor: Das Unfassbare Kehrt Zuruck" ("X-Factor: The Unfathomable") German actor Detlef Bothe presents five short stories about unusual and supernatural events, some of which are fictional, but others based on scientifically proven facts. The series focuses on ordinary people who have witnessed unbelievable, unusual incidents that dramatically changed their lives. Bizarre stories about parapsychology, reincarnation, aliens, or ghosts; whether they are true or fictional are revealed by the host only at the end of each episode.
Starting on 4 November 2018, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series' premiere in Germany of the USA series "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction"; RTL II produced two special episodes. The show was continued in 2019 and 2020 on RTL II and had a total of six episodes.
Detlef Bothe who was born on 24 July 1965, in Brunswick, Lower Saxony, Germany, is a German actor, screenwriter, film director and producer. Since the early 1990s, he has appeared in numerous film and television productions, both German and international. In 2015, he appeared in the James Bond film "Spectre" as a henchman, in a scene where he and Q (Ben Whishaw) are seen riding a cable car in the Austrian Alps.
Bothe became a prominent on-screen representative of the Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich as he has portrayed Heydrich in three films pertaining to his assassination: the 2011 Czech film "Lidice", the 2016 British film "Anthropoid", and the 2020 Czech film "Betrayer"; as well as in 2005 in a BBC documentary series about the Holocaust titled "Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution". Bothe is often praised as "dead ringer" (twin) of Heydrich.
