KYLE ONG

Kyle Ong is a Singapore-based filmmaker, producer and podcaster whose work explores Southeast Asian horror, folklore and supernatural storytelling. A graduate of Lasalle College of the Arts, he co-founded the horror production company Hantu with author Wayne Ree in 2019. Together, they develop stories that introduce the region's myths, cultures and ghostly traditions to wider audiences.

Ong is the co-creator and director of "Ghost Maps", a narrative horror podcast inspired by supernatural experiences shared by people across Southeast Asia. The series won Best Asian Hosted Podcast at the 2022 People’s Choice Podcast Awards and Best Fictional Podcast at the Asia Podcast Awards in 2024 and 2025. He also co-hosts and produces "Dead Air", a companion discussion programme featuring conversations about horror with actors, writers, podcasters and other guests.

His podcast credits include "Tales from Incredible Tales", a collaboration between Hantu and Mediacorp launched in 2024. The programme revisits and expands upon the supernatural themes of Mediacorp’s television series "Incredible Tales", exploring regional ghost stories, beliefs and paranormal experiences; and "Unearthed: The Entities of Southeast Asia".

Alongside podcasting, Ong works in documentary and narrative filmmaking. He made his television directorial debut with #NoFilter in 2017 as part of Discovery Channel's Jump Cut Asia. His subsequent projects include documentaries about Singapore’s Paralympic athletes, the horror short Closing Time, and the 2025 documentary series Teng Bong! The Eurasians of Singapore. He also facilitates courses in podcasting and filmmaking for emerging creators
