ALDO FARNESE - "ADAM ANDROID"

"Adam Android" was a hosted children's show, with Aldo Farnese as the host "Adam Android". The show ran from around 1971 to about 1973 on WTAF Channel 29 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The show took place on a spaceship, floating through the galaxies. At the helm of the spaceship was Adam Android, played by Farnese, and joined by his shipmate puppets, created by Anthony (Chic) Laganella. The show gained popularity with live contests where audience members could call in and win a trip to Dorney Park or a Huffy bike. One of the games was a Gerbil Race, where callers would pick a winner live. This became so popular that adults in taverns all over Philadelphia would place bets on the winning Gerbil. ALDO FARNESE Aldo Farnese was born on 4 August 1936, passing away on 28 July 1994; and was married to Dolores Pignoli in 1959, having three children together. Farnese was an actor, director, producer, writer, and camera operator. Farnese served in the US armed services until 1955, where he was a cinematographer, responsible for capturing various training implementations and filming operational procedures. ALDO FARNESE as "DICKORY DOC" In 1966, Farnese and Anthony Laganella created the hosted children's show "Dickory Doc", where he starred as "Dickory Doc". The show ran from 1966 until 1969. Farnese would go on to host "Adam Android" from around 1971 until about 1973. From around the mid 1970s, Fanese worked as a freelance director, producer and writer working at various production houses in Philadelphia directing television commercials for clients.
