BARON MISURACA

Baron Misuraca is an American musician, composer, vocalist, bassist, actor and comic-book writer who grew up in Brooklyn, New York. His career developed through the city's hardcore and metal scenes before expanding into gothic music and horror-themed entertainment. He was the bassist in the original lineup of Sheer Terror, which formed in December 1984.

Misuraca subsequently developed Vasaria with guitarist Chuck Lenihan and drummer Scott Harris. Drawing inspiration from horror films, medieval art, Black Sabbath and the Sisters of Mercy, he wrote the song structures and lyrics, with his bandmates contributing rhythmic and guitar arrangements. Vasaria released its self-titled album through Century Media Records in 1997 and toured Europe with the German group Das Ich. Further releases included the EPs Edge of Supremacy and The Rebirth.

Alongside his band work, Misuraca pursued gothic electronic music and developed his Vampire Lounge performances. He also made the music for two web-based hosted horror movie shows - "Fendred's Chamber" and "Fendred's Domain of Horror".

His interest in horror also extended to comics. He wrote In Flesh and Spirit, a supernatural narrative featuring a fictional vampire bearing his name, which was published by TidalWave Comics in 2021. His screen appearances include the horror anthology 60 Seconds to Die (2017).

In 2017, Misuraca became the vocalist and bassist of Carnivore A.D., performing music associated with the Brooklyn band Carnivore and honoring the legacy of its late members. His work has continued to connect music, visual storytelling and horror performance, including hosting Cemetery Cinema screenings at Coney Island USA.
