"DAWN"

"Dawn" is a comic book horror host who was created by Joseph Michael Linsner; and first appeared in December 1989's "Cry For Dawn". "Dawn" has appeared in many comic book issues, with the major appearances being: "Cry of Dawn": 1 December 1989 - March 1993 (nine issues) "Amazing Heroes Swimsuit Special": 1 June 1990 - 1 June 1993 (five issues) "Tears of Dawn": 1 January 1994 - 1 May 1997 (two issues) "Dawn": 1 June 1995 - October 1996 (six issues) "Crypt of Dawn": 1 April 1997 - 1 March 1999 (six issues) "Dawn: The Return of The Goddess": April 1999 - 1 July 2000 (four issues) "Dawn: Convention Sketchbook": March 2002 - May 2005 (four issues) "Dawn: Three Tiers": 1 July 2003 - 1 August 2005 (six issues) "Dawn Vampirella": September 2014 - October 2015 (five issues) DAWN Dawn is the goddess of birth and rebirth. She is the guardian of all the witches on Earth, and the goddess to whom they pray. Dawn is immortal, immune to gunfire, and capable of traveling to various dimensions and planes of reality. She is shown in many different facets, shapes, sizes, and colors; her appearance depends on who is viewing her. She is generally depicted as a young, red-haired woman with three "tears" running from her left eye (and one running from her right eye, which is usually hidden by her long hair); during the witch hunt, witches were discovered to only cry from their left eyes. She also has a rose on her right wrist and a chain on her left. The rose represents Hell, and although it has beauty, it only pricks and hurts a person; the chain represents Heaven because a person can only go so far before they are stopped short by its restrictions. Dawn's lover is Cernunnos (sometimes also known as the Horned God), the god of death, who has incarnated himself in the mortal form of Darrian Ashoka. Darrian, unaware of his true origins, lives in a post-apocalyptic New York City when he first meets Dawn. She leads him on his path of true identity and self-discovery. CRY FOR DAWN
