From "Captain Flashback"
Dr. X: The host of Dr. X’s Cinemondo, played by actor and film historian Robin Shurtz on Orlando, Florida’s cable access station from 1988 to 1992. Dr. X was openly cinephilic, with an encyclopedic knowledge of cult movies. His infectious enthusiasm tended to create a party atmosphere on set, and his jokes evoked giddy laughter from the crew, most of whom were seeing these “classic” films for the first time. Shurtz was also a friend of director Fred Olen Ray, and had parts in several of his movies.
