She is a teacher whose passions include ghost hunts and exploring old buildings. Michelle lives in the UK and invites guests to share their paranormal experiences on her show.
The host once awakened to find the specter of a sad old woman in her room. Michelle's sister heard crying sounds in the middle of the night. She checked on Michelle and their brother and found them asleep.
In one podcast episode, Michelle and guest Courtney discuss Rolling Hills Asylum. It was once the Genesee County Poor Farm. The New York facility housed orphans, widows, drunkards, criminals, and the disabled. It opened in 1827, over a century before the implementation of Social Security. Governments placed people in the poorhouse then. The way the building was set up allowed criminals to interact with vulnerable residents. More than 1,700 people lived there. Historians estimate that the number of residents could have been three times higher. Caskets were built on-site and many graves went unmarked.
The host discusses haunted locations like this in detail. Rolling Hills Asylum had several owners before it became a tourist attraction. The attraction showcases notorious residents bedrooms, including Ross Crouse's. He's considered one of the most active spirits in the building. He had gigantism and was more than seven feet tall. Abandoned at the farm by his father, Ross lived there for 50 years. Tourists report seeing his large shadows in the asylum.
Other spectators tales include heads peering from doorways and fingers tapping on glass. Visitors at Rolling Hills might also encounter Nurse Emmie's ghost. The cruel, loathed infirmary worker had a rumored interest in satanic rituals.
The "Haunted History Chronicles" podcast recommends the best places to interact with ghosts. Michelle also asks listeners to suggest locations she should explore. Her conversations are entertaining and informative. New podcast episodes appear on Fridays.
