"I Love A Mystery" was a serial adventure radio show, airing on NBC, firstly from 16 January 1939 till 27 June 1940, then with 30 minute episodes from 30 September 1940 until 29 June 1942; and then with 15 minute episodes from 22 March 1943 until 29 December 1944.

This was followed in 1949 with the return of "I Love a Mystery", airing from 3 October 1949 until 26 December 1952 with 15 minute episodes.
In 1989, episodes 8-15 of "The Temple of Vampires" were recreated; and in 1996, the story "The Fear That Creeps Like A Cat" was recreated, with Fred Foy as the announcer.
The central characters, Jack Packard, Doc Long, and Reggie York, met as mercenary soldiers fighting the Japanese in China. Later, they met again in San Francisco, where they decided to form the A-1 Detective Agency. Their motto was "No job too tough, no adventure too baffling". The agency served as a plot device to involve the trio in a wide variety of stories.
The stories covered the genres of mystery, adventure, and supernatural horror, and the plot lines often took the characters to exotic locations.
FREDERICK WILLIAM FOY Frederick William Foy was born on 27 March 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, USA; and passed away on 22 December 2010 in Woburn, Massachusetts, USA.
Foy was a radio & television announcer and actor. In March 2000, Foy was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame, and received the Golden Boot Award from the Motion Picture and Television Fund in August 2004.
CARLTON E. MORSE The syndicated series was produced, written and directed by Carlton E. Morse, who was involved with productions of other genre radio shows including "I Love Adventure"; "Adventures By Morse"; and "NBC Mystery Serial".
