"Midnight Monster Movies" was a hosted horror movie live show hosted by Bob Gilbert as "Dr. Bob Tesla" and Melanie Gilbert as "Nurse Feratu". The show started on 11 February 2012 at the Grandview Theatre in Columbus, Ohio, USA,; with exerts available on on YouTube. The last show appears to be on 2 July 2019. In 2021, Dr. Bob returns with "Monster Kid 101" and from 9 January 2021 - "Cliffhanger Theater" on Twitch at 10:00pm, every Friday. BOB GILBERT Bob Gilbert created, writes, directs and stars as Dr. Bob Tesla in Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob, a monthly live movie series in Columbus, Ohio. Rather than a typical horror host outing, this show is done live on stage in front of an actual audience and consists of a continuing storyline showcasing the Brothers Tesla as they defend humanity from one crisis after another ... usually from something that they created in the first place. He's the younger smarter brother of Nikola Tesla. Tonight I present Dr. Bob Tesla, host of Midnight Monster Movies which premiered on February 11, 2012 at the Grandview Theatre in Columbus, OH. His show is a little unusual it's one of the only live horror host shows. It doesn't air on TV but his YouTube channel shows the highlights of the live monthly show. Dr. Bob was born Feb. 29th, 1860 in Serbia. Thanks to the leap year aging, he's only 37 years old (until next year). His brother is still with him as a brain kept alive in a tank but only Dr. Bob can understand what Nikola is saying in his bubbles. Dr. Bob is assisted by Nurse Feratu and his hapless lab assistant who dies every show, named Igor or She-gor, depending on the performer's gender. His cast works hard to make the movies fun by borrowing from William Castle's bag of tricks; they've used forms of EMERG-O and the like. Bob evacuated the Grandview to take up a new lab behind an unmarked door in the physics lab on the OSU campus. Now he has to do a show at the Gateway Film Center every month to keep his tenure. People keep coming back to his live shows because they know that whatever movie he's showing, they'll have fun.
