"Nightmare Cafe" was a 1992 horror series set in a cafe, owned by Robert Englund as "Blackie".
The basis of the show:
Frank Nolan and Fay Peronivic find themselves in a mysterious all night cafe following their deaths; and have been brought back to life by the cafe. They are given the opportunity to correct something in their lives that went wrong the first time, and upon their success, they stay on as the cafe's new cook and waitress. Blackie, the enigmatic owner of the cafe, assists the couple find themselves dispensing hot coffee, daily specials, justice, and second chances to the many imperiled and troubled souls that the cafe is somehow able to attract, as it travels from place to place.
In short, a horror story anthology, with "Blackie" as the guiding host from story to story. The series lasted for six episodes.

Veteran character actor Robert Englund was born on 6 Jume 1947 in Glendale, California, USA; to Janis (MacDonald) and John Kent Englund, an aeronautics engineer. Since 1973, Robert has appeared in over 75 feature movies and starred in four television series. He has starred alongside Oscar winners Henry Fonda, Susan Sarandon and Jeff Bridges. Since 1984 he has achieved international fame as the iconic boogeyman Freddy Krueger in the hit franchise "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and its seven sequels. Englund would appear again as "Freddy Krueger" in the 1988-1990 television series "Freddy's Nightmares". Englund has guest starred in hundreds of hours of television - most recently "Bones", "Criminal Minds" and "Hawaii 5-0"; and star in the horror film "Fear Clinic", and the English thriller "The Last Showing", and may be heard as the voice of the Evil Beaver in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series.
