TOM DOUGALL - "MR. X"



"Shock Theatre" was a hosted horror movie show with Tom "Doc" Dougall as "Mr. X" presenting movies on WXYZ Channel 7, Detroit, Michigan, on Fridays at 11:30pm from from 7 February 1958 to 9 December 1960, with the first movie screened being the 1931 "Dracula".


"Shock Theatre" was followed at 12:45am by "Super Shock".


Dougall was a classically trained actor who taught English at the Detroit Institute of Technology. Dougall was grimly serious and set a solemn tone for what was to follow.
