Robert O. (Bob) Lowrie was born 4 September 1925, in Seattle, Washington, USA and passed away from a heart attack on 27 October 1968 at Kaiser Hospital, Hawaii.
He attended Bremerton High Shcool in Washington; and Bing Crosby's alma mater - Gonzaga University, Washington.
Started in broadcasting at 18 with station KIRO in Seattle, Washington; then further radio and television stints in San Franciso, Hollywood and Alaska.
Arrived in Hawaii in 1954 and Joined KHON K-POI in 1955, becoming the Station's news director from 1959.
He hosted the horror movie show "The Beard's Weird Movie" as "The Beard" on KONA-TV Channel 2, Honolulu, Hawaii from 10 May 1963 for a year or so, assisted by "Sugar", played by [link=nm10702447].
He was active in Hawaii Raceway Park activities, being an official track announcer and an avid drag racer.
