"The Hypnotic Eye" was a hosted horror, science fiction movie and television series show, hosted by Joe Riley, the voice behind "Icon, The Hypnotic Eye". "The Hypnotic Eye" was created by Joe Riley and Kenneth Weinert and screened on Friday and Saturday nights at 11:00 p.m. on Channel 25 B DCTV (Dallas) public access channel. The show ran irregularly from may 1996 to February 1999, with only a few episodes screened each year; with the series running for 12 episodes. The show featured "Icon, the Hypnotic Eye" (a puppet) as the host. Other co-host puppets included a cat hand puppet named "M.C. Tiny Bob", a marionette named "Donny" (a Donny Osmond doll), and "The Great Hugo", also known as "Hugo, Man of a Thousand faces", and a Kenner toy from the 1970s. The show featured clips from horror and science fiction movies, television shows and trailers, as well as interviews and old toy commercials. JOSEPH VERGEL RILEY From Wikipedia: Joseph Vergel Riley (26 February 1964 - 27 September 2007) was a US visual and plastic artist based in Dallas, Texas. A painter, sculptor, filmmaker, and special effects makeup artist, he made horror designs for latex masks and for movies, such as the 2004 superhero film "Blade: Trinity" from Marvel Comics, as well as conceptual art for children's animated series, such as Nickelodeon's "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" franchise from DNA Productions. He was also a notable part of the multimedia beginnings of the Church of the SubGenius as St. Joe Riley. Riley also provided special effects for another hosted horror movie show - "The Texas 27 Film Vault".
