THE CREAKING DOOR |
"The Creaking Door" was a hosted South African horror anthology radio series, that ran from 1964 to 1965, narrated by Peter Bloomfield.
Bloomfield was born in South Africa in 1925 and died there in 2002.
His radio credits include "In the Modern Medium", "Masonite At Your Service", "Open House", "Peter B' Live", "Pick a Box", "Saturday Gold", "Tea In Ceylon", "The Creaking Door", "Total Exposure". His South African radio and television career spanned from 1940 to 1990.
The idea for "The Creaking Door", sprung from the 1958 "The Creaking Door" an Australian horror anthology radio series.
The Australian series was a retitled version of another Australian horror anthology series, the 1952 "Inner Sanctum".
And this series used scripts from the 1941 USA horror anthology radio series "Inner Sanctum Mysteries".
